WHV Angkor - Sustainable Tourism
WHV-Angkor focuses on various efforts aimed to conserve, protect and promote Angkor Archaeological Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cambodia. Sustainable tourism plays an important role. There are three main considerations: a growing number of visitors, generating employment for local people, and monitoring impact on the site. Sustainable tourism aims to address these aspects while providing a positive experience for local people, tourism companies and tourists, and ensuring low environmental impacts. APSARA National Authority was established to oversee these conservation efforts. XplorMor International was on site to document this critical work and the hands-on opportunity offered to the UNESCO World Heritage youth volunteers program.
