WHV Angkor - Brick Conservation
WHV-Angkor focuses on various efforts aimed to conserve, protect and promote Angkor Archaeological Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cambodia. Brick conservation plays an important role in saving and restoring building integrity, and offers preventative measures to protect against further loss and decay. Research was done to understand ancient techniques and materials in order to replicate the original construction. APSARA National Authority was established to oversee the Angkor complex and to ensure these conservation efforts. XplorMor International was on site to document this critical work and the hands-on opportunity offered to the UNESCO World Heritage youth volunteers program.
