Banteay Kdei Temple
Banteay Kdei, which means Citadel of Chambers, is a smaller temple off the beaten path for tourists, leaving visitors with a peaceful, quiet experience. The temple is located west across the street from Srah Srang, also known as the Royal Bath, which is an ancient man-made reservoir. Banteay Kdei dates back to the late 12th and early 13th centuries, under the reign of Jayavarman VII. The temple was created in a very similar architectural style as Bayon, Ta Prohm and Preah Khan. There is an ongoing research and conservation project to restore and preserve the temple.
