Inyo National Forest, California
Inyo National Forest was established by President Theodore Roosevelt on May 25, 1907. Since its designation Inyo NF has grown more than ten times its initial size to encompass 2 million acres, mostly on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada in California, USA. The number of visitors to the park has also grown to around 4 million. With visitors in the millions, this national forest is the most visited national forest in California, requiring careful management for ecosystem health.
