Channel Islands National Park, California
This gallery offers an opportunity to explore Santa Cruz Island, one of the five remarkable islands that make up Channel Islands National Park, located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California. The park is home to plants and animals that live nowhere else on Earth, including the Island Fox which through careful and dedicated management has come back from the brink of extinction. Santa Cruz is the largest island in the chain and offers a window into what mainland California looked like 100 years ago. XMI also helped with conservation projects on San Nicolas Island, but due to its government owned status as a working naval base and weapons testing site we were unable to take photographs.
